February 4, 2026 To Whom It May Concern, Effective February 8, 2026, the parameters regarding details worked by East Providence Police Department will be modified to reflect changes collectively bargained between the City of East Providence and the International Brotherhood of Police Officers, Local 569. The special detail rate will remain at $70.00 per hour. The rate for a police cruiser will also remain at $29.00 per hour. Any weekday detail scheduled or occurring between 1800 hours and 0700 hours will be billed at time and one quarter of the detail rate. Any weekend detail scheduled or occurring from 0000 hours on Saturday until 0700 hours on Monday will be billed at time and one quarter of the detail rate. Any detail scheduled on an authorized holiday per the CBA will be billed at double the hourly detail rate. Any detail scheduled with less than two-hour’s notice will be deemed an emergency detail and will be billed at the rate of time and one-half of the detail rate. All details are for a minimum of four (4) hours for each officer and each cruiser assigned to the special detail. The East Providence Police Department holds an eight (8) hour cancellation policy. This means that if a detail is not cancelled eight (8) hours or more prior to the start of the detail, your company will still be billed for the four (4) hour minimum. All details will be billed four (4) hours, regardless of the actual length of the detail. Any detail that extends beyond 4 hours will be billed at an 8-hour minimum. Any detail that extends beyond 8 hours will be billed at a 12-hour minimum and beyond 12 hours will be billed at a 16-hour minimum. Any detail worked by the same detail officer for more than eight (8) hours will be billed at time and one half the detail rate for each hour worked over the eight (8) hour period. As always, payment in full is expected on the date of the detail unless you have made prior arrangements regarding payment. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding.
