Natick Police Detail Rates Updated and Effective: July 1, 2026. 

Base Detail Rate (hourly):     Officer = $71.53/Supervisor = $82.517. 

Premium Detail Rate (1.5x base detail rate/hourly):     Officer = $107.295/Supervisor = $123.775. 
This includes details during weekends, holidays listed below, nighttime hours (6p-7a), and strike/labor dispute details. Non-profit organizations are excluded from premium detail rates. Please inform the detail officer if you are properly registered with the MA Attorney General's Office or US Internal Revenue Service as a non-profit organization. 

Holidays: 
New Years Day, MLK Jr Day, Presidents Day, Patriots Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas.

Minimums:
Minimum compensation for a detail officer is 4 hours of pay. If the detail is scheduled for over 4 hours and up to 8 hours, the detail officer shall receive 8 hours of pay. After 8 hours, the officer shall be paid by the hour for actual time worked at the premium detail rate.

Additional Rates/Fees (These fees do not apply to Mass DOT vendor details):
Administrative fee - A 10% administrative fee will be added to the total charge for hours billed.
Cruiser fee - If a cruiser is required, you must notify the detail officer when scheduling the detail. A cruiser fee of $25/hr will be applied to hours billed.

Cancellation Policy:
Details must be canceled no later than 60 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. Details canceled within 60 minutes of the scheduled start time will be billed at the corresponding rates and minimums described above. Vendors are required to speak to a police supervisor to cancel a detail. Voicemail and email messages will not be accepted for cancellations. Vendors should call 508-647-9500 and ask to speak to the Desk Sergeant.  

Traffic Constables:
In the event a Police Officer is not available for a requested road construction/traffic control detail a Traffic Constable may be assigned to the detail. Traffic Constables can only provide traffic control functions at road construction/traffic control details and are ineligible for non-traffic control details.  
Traffic Constable = $50-$65/hr.
